Adult Education Classes
I will be offering more weekly Adult Education Classes at Hamden High School in the evenings.
Basic Drawing
Mondays, Starting March 23, 6:30-8:30 pm
Using black and white studies, you will learn to draw basic shapes found in everyday objects Instruction on perspective and values will provide a good foundation for basic drawing skills. Bring a 12″ or`14′”drawing tablet, vine charcoal, and HB and 6B drawing pencils.
Beginning and Intermediate Oil Painting
Thursdays, Starting Aprl 2, 6-8:00 pm
Study the fundamentals of oil painting using photo references. Learn about composition, materials, values, texture and color theory. You will learn to mix colors and apply paint using mediums. A supply list will be provided prior to the first night of class.
New! Advanced Oil Painting
Wednesdays, Starting April 29, 6-8:00 pm
Explore the three basic categories of color theory: The color wheel, color harmony, and the context of how colors are used. Students will make color charts and apply their knowledge to painting a picture. Techniques such as painting using a palette knife, varying brush strokes, protective finishes, and wiring/framing will also be included.

Artsplace Classes
Oil Painting Workshop – Paint a Meandering Stream
Saturday, April 4, 9:30 am -1:30 pm
Paint a meandering stream and stone bridge in a forest setting. The class will include instruction on composition, color mixing, and step-by-step process in oil painting. Learn about values, edges, and painting techniques. Teens through Adults, Beginning to Advanced.
Fun Mask Creation for Kids
I’m currently working on scheduling a class for kids for the summer on mask creation similar to the project i’m doing for Artsday. Stay tuned!

Oil Painting for Seniors
Next semester begins April 7. Continuous.
Tuesdays, 12:45-2:45 or
Wednesdays 9 – 11 am
Learn basic techniques of oil painting using photo references. Beginners welcome. Must be a senior to join. Contact North Haven Senior Center for more information and registration.
