I’ve been teaching art for several years now and love every minute of it. I find that it’s rewarding for both myself and my students. It’s so exciting to see their work evolve into wonderful art that they can feel proud of. It’s rewarding when a student says “Thank you. I’ve learned so much in your class!”
My classes are in the New Haven County area, both in local art centers and at high schools that sponsor enrichment classes for adult education.
I am available for private lessons in painting and drawing, whether in your home or on location. I also love to instruct en plein air painting and drawing. Please contact me for more information.

Independent Workshop

Plein Air Workshop at Chaffinch Island Park – New!
I will teach a plein air painting workshop at Chaffinch Island Park in Guilford this summer. I’ve painted there many times before and it’s a beautiful and peaceful place to visit and paint or draw. The island is more like a peninsula, surrounded by water on three sides with huge boulders and swamp grasses. Boaters dock at Brown Marina nearby, so you will see boats, lots of birds and some kayakers. The workshop will take place on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13, from 9 am to noon both days. The first day, I will do a quick demonstration and then everyone can split up and set up their paint boxes where they choose. I will wander around from person to person and give instruction. You can paint in oil or acrylic. There’s a fair amount of parking and there are portable restrooms. Bring a bag lunch and gather with the group at picnic tables on the grounds after each session. The fee is $200 for both days, payable to me. Contact me for more information.
